About

I am a documentary and art photographer whose work is deeply entwined with my decades-long Buddhist practice and the core principle of paying close attention to the world as it is. Photography helps me examine the world more attentively and experience it more deeply.

I have been shooting photographs since childhood, when my father and I built a darkroom in our basement. Although I miss the smell of chemicals and the lovely red light of a darkroom, all my images are shot and edited digitally now. The images on this site were shot on a range of cell phones, DSLRs, and a pocket camera I almost always carry with me.

I have photographed for a wide range of media outlets, including SFist, The Frisc, Mission Local, and USA Today, and my art photography has been selected for exhibitions by the Sausalito Center for the Arts, Drawing Room Gallery, ArtSpan, and the Sacramento Fine Arts Center.

In my career as a literary agent I am a devoted supporter and fierce proponent of my clients’ creativity. In my own work as a visual artist, it is fun to hone my own creativity and share it with others.
